We believe every youth in foster care deserves the opportunity to achieve well-being and succeed in school, work, and family life during their journey through adolescence to young adulthood, and throughout life. To this end, the campaign promotes policy goals that:
Prioritize health, healing, and well being;
Nurture family ties and family permanence;
Retool foster care to better serve adolescents and young adults;
Increase accountability, foster fairness, and focus on results;
Help youth to be plugged in to supportive services during and after foster care; and
Promote economic security and mobility.
These goals build on the legacy of youth-led advocacy that began over 20 years ago with the passage of the Chafee Foster Care Program for Successful Transitions to Adulthood, including subsequent enactments by Congress.
